POSITION SUMMARY

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving growth and expanding our custom molded fiberglass product line. This role will be essential in building strategic partnerships, identifying new opportunities, and driving revenue growth for our custom fiberglass solutions. This position will utilize a strong business acumen, a solid understanding of the automotive aftermarket, and proven experience in sales, product development, and customer relationship management.

CORE FUNCTIONS

Market Research and Strategy Development:

  • Conduct market analysis to identify trends, competitive landscape, and new opportunities for growth within the fiberglass category.
  • Develop and execute a business development strategy to expand the custom molded fiberglass division.
  • Identify target markets, potential partners, and distribution channels to increase market penetration.

Sales and Revenue Growth:

  • Drive sales for the custom fiberglass product line by developing relationships with key OEMs, distributors, and other strategic partners.
  • Manage the entire sales pipeline from prospecting to closing, ensuring targets are met or exceeded.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and supply agreements to maximize profitability.

Product Development and Customization:

  • Collaborate with the product development team to ensure custom fiberglass products meet customer specifications and quality standards.
  • Work with engineering and production teams to develop custom solutions based on customer requirements.
  • Provide input for new product ideas, features, and improvements based on market needs and customer feedback.

Customer Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, distributors, and partners.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, managing their needs, addressing concerns, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with clients and stakeholders to ensure alignment and explore further growth opportunities.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with marketing to develop promotional strategies and materials that drive demand for the custom fiberglass products.
  • Collaborate with the operations and supply chain teams to ensure timely production, delivery, and fulfillment of customer orders.
  • Partner with finance to create accurate sales forecasts, budgets, and performance reports.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing or a related field.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience required, preferably in business development, sales, or account management. Experience in the automotive aftermarket, Agriculture or RV manufacturing industry preferred.
  • Strong understanding of custom molded fiberglass processes, materials, and applications.
  • Proven track record of driving sales and building successful partnerships in a B2B environment.

Required Licenses

  • Valid State issued Driver’s License.

  • Business acumen and a deep understanding of sales cycles.
  • Strong networking abilities to build relationships across various levels of the organization.
  • Results-oriented, with a focus on achieving and exceeding revenue goals.
  • Technical knowledge of fiberglass products, manufacturing processes and custom applications.

Travel

  • Dependent on channel responsibility, frequent travel may be required. Willingness to travel as needed to meet clients and attend industry events.

  • This position is an Individual Contributor: working team member with no oversight of others and no management responsibilities.
