Job Description

We are looking for a technically strong business developer to operate in a customer facing role focused on project opportunities within the LNG, Hydrogen & CCUS markets for the Americas region. 

To drive this growth opportunity, we are looking for a Senior Business Development Manager that will focus on exponentially growing Rotork’s business in the Americas’ LNG, Hydrogen & CCUS segments. This role is both a strategic and proactive one, collaborating closely with all Rotork stakeholders to achieve sales growth, whilst positioning Rotork as the preferred choice for flow control solutions in this market segment.

The Business Development Manager will play a key role in identifying and pro-actively pursuing new projects at the feasibility and design stage, to enable Rotork to promote and influence end user and EPC specifications. The role will involve identifying project opportunities, in close co-operation with strategic management to develop successful front end to execution strategies.

Major Duties:

  • Total support for the commercialization of Rotork’s LNG, Hydrogen and CCUS opportunities in the Americas
  • Identifying opportunities to partner with key LNG Operators to resolve operational issues and propose innovative solutions to enhance their operations.
  • Presenting technical solutions to key customers to establish our suite of products across the relevant Approved Vendor Lists.
  • Identifying and proactively maintaining the Rotork installed-base in the US, partnering with local sales teams to ensure customers’ requirements are being exceeded and elevating Rotork to a preferred status as a result. 
  • Play a key role in the pursuit of new-build projects for the nominated customers, working with other members of our team around the world, liaising with FEED & EPC Contractors where appropriate, and advising our wider sales team on positioning optimized bids with Valve OEMs. 
  • Building relationships with LNG, Hydrogen, CCUS Operators and EPCs

Qualifications

  • Higher technical qualification in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • Proven sales and business development ability with commercial awareness and the ability to effect and implement sales strategies across a matrix organization.
  • Previous experience of working in the process and automation industry, ideally with knowledge of actuation / valve automation.
  • An effective communicator at all levels, with strong negotiation ability to influence the delivery of positive outcomes. Strong written communication skills to enable effective reporting that concisely identifies key issues.
  • Ability to translate market requirements into products, solutions and technical arguments for customers.
  • Experience in business development and client facing activities with a proven track record of delivering innovative solutions.
  • An understanding of the commercial aspects of large capital projects in the energy industry would be an advantage.
