A Day in the Life and the Impact You’ll Make:

As a Business Development Manager, you will enjoy the flexibility of working from a home office while thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You will lead and support current clients and potential prospects with their Process Safety consulting needs. As an individual contributor, your skills in business development, sales, and time management will be put to the test as you engage with colleagues and clients through a variety of communication methods.

Participation in industry trade shows, regional team meetings, and occasional customer visits will further enrich your experience. Your contributions will play a crucial role in achieving the company’s growth objectives. By building meaningful relationships with clients, you will align their needs with our service offerings, driving success for both our clients and the organization.

What You’ll Do:

  • Generate revenue through proactive client outreach to obtain orders for Risk Assessment of Hazardous Processes, Process Safety Management, and Explosion Protection Consulting for assessments such as Dust Hazard Analysis, Process Hazard Analysis, Hazardous Area Classification, Regulatory Audits, and Building/Fire Code Reviews.
  • Review customer technical requirements, develops a clear understanding of project objectives leading to the development of a comprehensive proposal.
  • Develop relationships with strategic accounts seeking growth opportunities for the DEKRA portfolio of services including Process Safety Consulting, EHS Consulting, Training and Safety Management Systems.
  • Actively manage technical inquiries from lead through proposal management to winning projects.
  • Create and maintain a database of current and potential customers to actively increase market share.
  • Document all leads, contacts, opportunities & activities with clients in DEKRA’s CRM for transparency & accountability.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, RFPs with clients while following DEKRA’s policies.
  • Manage and mitigate customer complaint issues.
  • Ability to negotiate and close client contracts, and agreements in the best interests of DEKRA.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a Technical Discipline preferred (will consider technical experience)
  • Demonstrated Process Safety sales or operations experience
  • Familiarity with consensus standards and regulatory requirements for Process Safety applications.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, SalesForce, and ZoomInfo

 Physical Considerations:

  • Ability to work in a general office environment.
  • Ability to handle extended periods of computer-based work, including telephone.
  • Ability to work flexible and long hours, as needed.

Travel Considerations:

  • Domestic travel required, estimated up to 25%.

 

What You’ll Receive for the Value You Bring:

Compensation: 

The base pay for this position is $110,000 to $130,000 per year. Actual pay is based on several factors including market location and position-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
