The Role
Linea is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to execute GAAP financial reporting, create budgets, forecast company liquidity and oversee all treasury functions. The role will also be responsible for creating, and continually enhancing, management reporting for development and operating asset performance. This key accounting position has daily interaction with the CFO and is an excellent opportunity for career advancement. As such, the role requires a breadth of accounting, treasury, FP&A and data experience to consolidate GAAP financials, enforce an effective control environment and ensure appropriate liquidity for capital intensive projects. The ideal candidate will manage the accounting staff’s day-to-day transactions while communicating the company’s financial performance to key stakeholders. This role will also have significant input on digital automation with the CFO to appropriately scale the company’s financial reporting.
This is an opportunity for a self-motivated, highly organized individual, who can work independently and collaboratively to integrate accounting with operations. Excellent communication skills are required with all levels of the organization, including colleagues, management, stakeholders, and investors. The ideal candidate will enjoy building a business with an experienced management team and executing on a strategic plan. This position is located at either of our San Francisco or Austin offices and will report to the CFO.
 Responsibilities
  • Ensure all transactions are recorded accurately and timely in accordance with GAAP
  • Timely preparation of monthly financial statements and management reporting
  • Forecast and manage cash liquidity in anticipation of all company inflows and outflows
  • Create company budgets and forecasts with operations for management and the board
  • Prepare variance analysis for budgets and forecasts in coordination with operations
  • Manage tax consultants and auditors in preparing tax returns and compliance reporting
  • Review project asset schedules, depreciation and ensure appropriate GL entries
  • Maintain debt, financing schedules and covenant compliance for stakeholders
  • Manage and approve AP and GL accountant’s transactions to the trial balance
  • Ensure vendors, treasury and financial data adheres to controls and segregation of duties
  • Manage all payment disbursements, receipts and financing transactions
  • Present the Company’s financial position and budget variances to CFO
  • Create and continually improve the company’s internal controls and policies
  • Manage credit applications and license requirements as needed
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field, and at least five (5) years of increasing responsibility in accounting and/or FP&A
  • If no degree, minimum of ten (10) years of Increasing responsibility in accounting
  • Experience executing on task prioritization and a strategic plan
  • Previous experience in renewable energy is ideal with real estate experience also valued
  • Solid working knowledge of GAAP accounting and/or public accounting experience
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and any experience with Sage Intacct, Sitetracker, Planful, Salesforce and/or SQL/Python is highly beneficial
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, manage time, and work independently to meet deadlines
  • Must be thorough, thoughtful and able to perform well in a fast-growing environment
  • Ability to focus on small details and high-level strategic projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong analytical, organizational, attention to detail, problem-solving, and leadership skills
  • Keen eye for automation improvements and any software implementation best practices
  • High degree of professionalism and tact in dealing with internal and external partners
COMPENSATION
Job Type - Permanent, Full-time
Salary - A base salary commensurate with experience
Bonus - An annual bonus will be awarded based on both individual performance as well as the overall success of the business.
